Goal Setting
Goal setting is the strongest human force for self-motivation. Before the start of the program, participants and their mentors are interviewed individually to determine goals and to set up a tracking system which measurable results can be determined.
-
Active Learning -- Multi-sensory Input
Active learning is more effective than passive learning because the more senses that are involved the greater the comprehension and retention. NWLG program makes use of visual sense through printed text, the auditory sense through recordings and facilitated sessions, and the sense of touch through writing responses to the action steps at the end of each chapter.
Spaced Repetition
Repeating the same act 6 times over a period of time increases retention of that idea by 65%. Therefore, by repeating the same lesson over a number of days, ideas that were missed the first time are more likely to be absorbed and retained.
-
Facilitation -- Communication - Application
Our programs are conducted by a certified facilitator who focuses on the participant's challenges and goals. In addition, the facilitator works with the participant and their "coach (supervisor) to form a communication triangle that assures that the lessons learned are applied to the workplace and results are evaluated weekly.
-
Reinforcement
Ongoing positive reinforcement of the concepts learned is a major part of each and every program to assure positive change and ongoing results. In addition, follow-up sessions are conducted after each program to further reinforce the lessons and ideas covered during the sessions.
-
Convenience
The programs are designed to allow busy people to learn and use the program's content quickly. Lessons are recorded on cassette tape or CD for easy listening and quick review. Participants can listen at any time (e.g. driving to and from work) when their hands are busy but their minds are not.
-
Flexibility
Group training sessions are scheduled to be convenient for the participants. In the event of an emergency that would prohibit a participant from attending a scheduled class, an individual session can be re-scheduled.
-
Retention - Transformation - Results
All of these add up to retention of the information learned and the transformation of each participant's behavior to achieve the desired results.
